At Main Street Schoolhouse, we offer a comprehensive housing service that includes four beautiful, fully furnished Victorian guesthouses located in the charming and historic neighborhood of Hamilton. These guesthouses are the perfect choice for students, staff members, and visiting parents seeking a private and comfortable living space while studying or working at Main Street Schoolhouse.

Our accommodations feature a delightful blend of vintage heirloom pieces and charming yard-sale finds, artfully arranged to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Our focus on comfort and serenity ensures that your stay  is as relaxing and peaceful as possible. Our guests have the opportunity to socialize and connect in our spacious and well-appointed common areas, including a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, laundry facilities, and clean bathrooms. Sharing these amenities ensures a sense of community among our guests. To promote a serene and comfortable atmosphere for all our guests, we maintain a spacious and carefully planned environment. Each floor is limited to three guests only, ensuring that everyone can enjoy our common areas without any inconvenience or discomfort caused by overcapacity.

The front porches and gardens in these houses have swings and seating to relax and visit with other students. To maintain a healthy, happy, and safe environment in the guesthouses, each guest must agree and follow the general house policies. By working together to maintain a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere, we can all enjoy a pleasant and stress-free stay after school. Please note, guests who do not follow the house policies will not be allowed to stay. 

Below are our housing options we’re delighted to present for your consideration.

Victorian House. Step back in time to the captivating 1890’s in our lovingly restored three-story family home, complete with stunning original oak woodwork, beautiful fireplaces, intricate sliding panel doors, and colorful stained glass windows. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is set by the grand front entry hall, featuring a cozy oak bench, twinkling lights, and a beautiful oak stairway. With eight private bedrooms, three inviting living rooms, four clean bathrooms, a charming brick-walled sit-in kitchen, a convenient basement laundry, and a spacious front porch, this home is the perfect place to relax and unwind after school. 

Balcony House. Located on the same street is another Victorian style white frame house, distinguished by a wrought-iron balcony, front porch, garden seating, and backyard patio. This is a 12-room home with remarkable cherry woodwork inside, and stained glass windows, one in upper stairway, and one in upper bathroom. Each floor has 6 rooms including 3 private bedrooms. First floor features fireplaces, the cozy sitting room, bathroom with tub/shower, and the kitchen with original floor-to-ceiling pine pantry cupboard. All decorated with cute, interesting vintage furniture. Second floor has a separate entrance door on front porch. At top of stairs is a small dinette room. Painted floors and appealing mixture of furniture fitting for an 1890’s home provide a pleasant, comfortable surroundings for students. The stained glass window and vintage claw-foot bathtub make using the bathroom a lovely experience, especially for lady students. For convenience, second floor has its own laundry room. 

Green House. Families and student groups will find a comfortable and unique stay at our charming round-tower green frame home. With a private entrance, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable sitting room, guests can enjoy a true home away from home experience. The vintage furnishings, cozy bed covers, and charming wallpapered stairway provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. 

Additionally, the home’s location just steps away from the Victorian Guesthouse offers easy access to the Main Street Schoolhouse campus and its many resources. Parents and students alike can enjoy the convenience and comfort of this delightful accommodation. 

Margie’s House. Different from the other guesthouses, this one is Karen’s family home where she grew up, and it is named after her beloved mother, Margie. Heirloom family furniture adorn the house. Margie’s natural English gardens surround the entire house, reminding one of the “Secret Garden” novel. You will also enjoy the peaceful neighborhood with a rest park facing the homes, and a few blocks of walking will lead you to historic Main Street with its charming shops and ice cream parlor. Margie’s House has a bedroom and sunny study room on first floor, and upstairs has the large master bedroom and 2 smaller bedrooms, and a bathroom. The living room, with windows facing the park offer a place to socialize with other guests, and the vintage kitchen and lunch room provide a place to prepare simple meals and eat. Laundry room and extra half bathroom are in basement.

The housing fee for staying in a guesthouse room is to cover room, utilities, wi-fi, cleaning, maintenance, and supplies. This fee can be daily, weekly, or monthly.
